Try Spaniel energy and live in the NOW !
One big problem you poor old Humans have is that most of you never live in the moment, well not for very long anyway.
Did you know there are only three places for your mind to be,they are :The past,The future,The present, There is nowhere else for it to possibly be.
As a Spaniel I can tell you for sure that I only live in the one place and that is the NOW!
I can tell you that I am not the least bit interested in what happenend last week,last month or last
year. As far as I'm concerned there is only the present moment in time.
As a Human you may think this a little strange or even boring.
I will let you into a secret,when you don't pay too much attention to the past and the concerns of the future you don't lug a ton of emotional baggage around with you.
Imagine no thoughts of injustice from days gone by,no remembering harsh words spoken or what might have been.
Nope,nothing to regret and the same can be same of the living with your mind in the future.
I'm not thinking of what might happen soon worrying about if I will get a good walk in the morning or if the weather will be ok or I hope they don't forget to feed me.
I'm totally and utterly oblivious to the future.
What is the result of all this focusing on the now ?
The result is I don't waste a second of very valueable mental energy which I could have frittered away lost in a sea of useless thoughts.
This turn makes me feel totally energized and alive hence
live like a Spaniel.
Simple recipe the past is past the future has'nt happenend yet so why worry?
Now unfortunatly from the time I've been around Humans I don't see much evidence of this kind of thinking.
Admittedly I'm a Spaniel and I do this stuff naturally but you can do it as well.
All you need to do is practice and gently train yourself to stay in the moment even if you just start with a few seconds at a time. With a little patience it will soon come.
As I have'nt yet got round to reading the great spiritual classics just yet ( Not easy for a dog )but there is one or two marvellous books around which might help you in your quest such as******and ********.
It might interest you to know that some of the sages from the past advocated this mindfullness stuff.
I am wondering about the Buddha, he had large ears as well,part Spaniel maybe ? makes you think.
